Jacques Delacôte was born in France. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris and with Prof. Hans Swarowsky at the Vienna Music Academy. In 1971 the talented young conductor was elected unanimously the winner of the gold medal at the Dimitri-Mitropoulos-Competition in New York, which opened his way to an important international career. As an assistant of such famous music personalities like Darius Milhaud and Leonard Bernstein he earned valuable experiences.

1972 he gave guest performances in subscription concerts with the NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA. Since then he has performed as a guest conductor with the following orchestras: CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA, SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, LONDON PHILHARMONIC AND ROYAL PHILHARMONIC, ENGLISH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA, ORCHESTRE DE PARIS and ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE, WIENER SYMPHONIKER, MONTREAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, ROYAL ORCHESTRA OF BELGIUM and DANISH ROYAL ORCHESTRA, SCOTTISH NATIONAL and SCOTTISH CHAMBER as well as ISRAEL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, TOKYO PHILHARMONIC and YOMIURI NIPPON.

In addition, Maestro Delacôte collaborates frequently with such important radio orchestras like BBC LONDON, RIAS BERLIN, SDR STUTTGART, SWF BADEN BADEN, WDR COLOGNE, BR MUNICH and MDR LEIPZIG.

Above that, Jacques Delacôte is an enthusiastic opera conductor. He stood in the pit of the VIENNA STATE OPERA, BAVARIAN STATE OPERA in MUNICH, the HAMBURG STATE OPERA, DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN, STATE OPERA STUTTGART, SEMPEROPER DRESDEN, ROYAL OPERA HOUSE COVENT GARDEN as well as the ENGLISH NATIONAL OPERA in LONDON, the WELSH NATIONAL OPERA CARDIFF, the SCOTTISH OPERA GLASGOW, the OPERA DE PARIS, and as a guest at the opera houses of BRUSSELS, ZURICH, COPENHAGUE, CHICAGO, PITTSBURGH, MONTREAL, TORONTO, VENICE, the TEATRO COLÓN in BUENOS AIRES, the GRAN TEATRO DEL LICEU in BARCELONA, the ROYAL SWEDISH OPERA in STOCKHOLM as well as the TOKYO NIKIKAI OPERA FOUNDATION and the NEW NATIONAL THEATRE TOKYO. He also conducted at Festivals: *Flandern, Wiener Klangbogen, Wiener Arkadenhofkonzerte, Musiktage Leipzig, Savonlinna, Orange, Mérida, Pablo Casals Puerto Rico, Las Palmas,
The Proms at Albert Hall London.*

Under the conducting of Jacques Delacôte, among others, the following recordings were made: La Traviata, Carmen, Turandot live from the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE COVENT GARDEN; Roméo et Juliette, Hérodiade, Samson et Dalila live from the Liceu Barcelona; Carmen live from EARLS COURT LONDON; Otello live from the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE in the ALBERT HALL LONDON; José Carreras and Friends live from the ROYAL THEATRE DRURY LANE LONDON; French Opera Arias with José Carreras; Operatic Arias with Samuel Ramey as well as The Royal Philharmonic Collection (Bizet).

Jacques Delacôte gave a Master Class at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich.
